Staying active and fit is important for all of us. I would even say that it is critical, especially for busy moms. Fitness is a form of self care, but it shouldn’t be the only method of self care for the busy mama. Juggling work, kids, a household, a partner, a personal life, and me-time… all of that can take a toll on our bodies. Using essential oils to support your fitness routine can be wildly helpful, especially if your doc has okayed your fitness routine.
I am a big fan of at home workouts. I do love a good gym, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes we don’t have the means to be a gym rat, and it’s ok. At home workouts can give you results, provided that you actually do them 😉 It doesn’t serve anyone to have a super awesome workout dvd chillin’ on the shelf… still in the wrapper. What kind of home workouts am I into? I love pilates, I love yoga, and I love TERRAfit workouts. Switching things up keeps me interested, engaged, and let’s be brutally honest… sore too. (This is probably why we NEVER run out of Deep Blue Rub! haha!)
Incorporating Peppermint Oil before my workout is a way for me to open up the airways and feel fresh! I like working out in the morning, usually before my hubby and my son wake up. This gets me feeling pumped and ready to take on my day. It also diminishes the dreaded mommy guilt. You know the thing, where you feel guilty for doing something you want to do, WHEN you want to do it? Yeah, enough of that. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life girlfriend! I also love adding Motivate to my diffuser before my workout. Who doesn’t want to smell something fresh and invigorating when they’re breaking a sweat?
The chaos of motherhood will always be there, but I can definitely day that creating an income with doTERRA has allowed me to do MORE of the “mommy things” that I have always wanted for my son. I grew up with both of my parents being entrepreneurs, and having them home was “normal” for me. I can’t imagine what it must have been like for my friends that didn’t grow up with that experience. The ability to stay home and give my son the experiences I cherished as a child has been so rewarding. Even bringing my husband home from his full time job… and giving HIM the opportunity to shine as the father he wants to be… I can’t even express how grateful I am for that. I invite you to consider this for yourself, and work closely with me, so that I can support you in your own goals.
Is my life still chaos sometimes? Oh heck yes. I’m a mom! But our definition of normal, looks a bit different. The mommy guilt is gone. When my husband was working and I was trying to find time to work out while he was at work, I felt guilty. I felt all of the “shoulds”. I should be cleaning right now. I should be doing laundry right now. I should be taking Daen to the park right now. I should not prioritize my health… all of those feelings vanished as soon as I really hunkered down and opened up the doors to my business.
Now when I workout, it’s just that. It’s time for me to focus on my heart rate, and beads of sweat rolling down my forehead. It’s time for me to literally work out my issues, and feel good about where my day is going. I invite you to make this a priority in your life. Don’t get crazy… 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week is plenty! You deserve to live the life you desire, and that includes supporting your health. You deserve to feel amazing… even when you’re chasing after your kiddos, and trying to wipe their booty! 😉
